Qpa Statement On Publication Of Minerals Policy Statement 1

QPA Director General Simon van der Byl stated:

“Initial reading of the ODPM ‘Consultation Paper on Minerals Policy Statement 1: Planning and Minerals and associated Good Practice Guidance’ which was published today (24) indicates that it will require careful comparison with previous guidance to fully appreciate any material changes in policies.

We welcome the fact that the Government has confirmed that the aggregates industry makes “a valuable contribution to prosperity and quality of life, and are essential in the development of sustainable communities”.

The industry recognises that it must operate to high environmental standards and QPA members are committed to working in a sustainable fashion.”
