| The Quarry Products Association (QPA) is the UK’s top trade association.
We received that accolade in the CBI Trade Association Forum Awards and also collected the Environmental Initiative Award" for its sustainable development strategy, while last year this website was named Best of the Year by the Communicators in Business.
The Quarry Products Association is the trade association for companies involved in supplying crushed rock from land and marine sources (known as marine aggregates), as well as those working in the asphalt and concrete aggregates industries, ready-mixed concrete, silica sand, agricultural lime, mortar, slag, recycled aggregates, construction and quarry plant.
We represent our members' interests on policy, planning and technical matters with government departments, local authorities, professional trade bodies and other key audiences at European, national and local levels.
Our regional structure, based on UK economic and planning regions, enables us to enter into dialogue with all interested parties at county and local levels.
The following organisations are constituent bodies of the Quarry Products Association:
To view all the QPA personnel or the various QPA members please
use the links in the 'also relevant' section shown to the right.
On our website you will also find information on sustainable development, inert waste, mineral planning, geodiversity, biodiversity and the ALSF, as well as environmental protection, resource conservation, sustainable construction, earth science and carbon reduction.
The QPA represents the interests of more than 120 quarry operators who together produce more than 90% of the UK's aggregate-based construction materials and in doing so provide livelihoods for 40,000 people.
Did you know, for example, that each person in the UK uses four tonnes of aggregates each year? And that the quarrying industry has planted over two million trees in recent years? Or that it has helped to safeguard Britain's archaeology at a cost of around £10 million?
Our regional structure is based on UK economic planning regions, allowing us to enter into dialogue with interested parties at county and local level. The QPA regions are shown in our UK map right.
The Association will be happy to provide you with more information and to receive comments on the work of the industry.
